There is yet another option. For $25 or less you can buy a USB adapter that accepts both IDE and SATA HDDs of either 2.5" or 3.5" form factors. I have one that is a docking station on order for $18 from Handhelditems.com , but it might be for SATAs only--I forget. You might also search on dealmac.com .
