Yes, the pictures quality is pretty bad.

OTOH, my 6 year old has a lot of fun with it, taking pictures of his 
latest lego creations etc. and he can use it by himself without me 
worrying about him breaking an expensive camera.

When my oldest was that age, we got her a (Fisher Price?) film camera 
and practically went broke paying for film and photo processing.

IOW, its a great toy.
