I use the Dell 1701FP 17" monitor. I bought this for my Jan 2001 vintage G4/733 because at that time Apple's 17" flat panel monitor wasn't out yet. It has worked fine since then with no problems at all. I use a third party cable to attach to the G4's Apple digital monitor port. The display quality is excellent (especially under Jaguar) at its native 1280x1024 resolution. This monitor also has a conventional VGA attachment which I could have used. I've never done an A/B comparison to learn whether I could see any difference in the monitor display quality when running in VGA mode versus running in DVI mode. -ct
