 i upgraded the hd in my imac..i would not recommend..(nor would apple) you
use 7200rpm..i used a 5400..runs cooler..the imacs (some models) do not have
a fan.. the high 7200 drive runs tooooo hot for those imacs...stick with the
5400 and you will have no problems..i have not had one yet.
