decision time for portable mac

I will be buying a new computer within the next 2 months.  I have a 3 year
old iBook, which I have been using as my sole computer for 2 years.  I think
I am hooked on being portable, therefore I will probably buy another iBook
or a Powerbook.  

My question is regarding the Combo/Superdrive.  I don't think the iBook is
available with the superdrive, correct?  But would I need that capability
anyway?  I will be getting a digital camera at the same time as the
computer, and will want to burn photos to CD.  We have an 8mm camcorder, but
I forsee upgrading it to a new model within the next year.  I saw somewhere
a camcorder that used DVDs to record on.  We already have a DVD player next
to the TV.  

Please tell me why I may or may not want the Superdrive in whatever I decide
to buy!
