Rats!  Desktop Rebuilt, but that did not work.  I am going to erase Eudora, 
and install it again.  I hate to loose all my email, but I don't know what 
else to do now.  It has been a faithful Mac for years.

Thanks  for your help.  I'll let you know what happens after the new Eudora 
install.
