Epson scanner

Hi all, I have a cannon 630u scanner, I saw today at comp usa an epson 
1260 on sale for 49 dollars,I DO NOT  think its to photo model but the 
number specs still show its better than my presant scanner and it has 
OSX drivers on the epson web page,I know numbers can be made to lie, so 
I want to ask if anyone is useing one of these for occasional home use 
and is it useable enough for general copying?
