thought about adding an external vga monitor, but the sucker already takes up so much space. I've got directions but I haven't tried it yet. I put in disk warrior cd in the imac and it ran the 10.x version, then the monitor crashed, so maybe it's the firmware, among other things. Maybe sacrificing a live chicken... your apple techs sounds like they gave you a great deal and were helpful, too; I hope I'm so lucky. But I don't know if it's even worth the cost of diagnosing it.
