Can't start up in OS 9

I have a G4 iMac that will boot up into 9 and 10. Right now it is in 10.2.8.

I just installed Stuffit Deluxe 8, but need to boot up in 9 (9.2.2) to
upgrade Stuffit 7 and some other stuff. Here is what I did:

1. Opened System preferences/Start Up Disk.

2. Three icons are present: Mac OS 9.2.2, Mac10/10.2.8 and Network. Os 9 and
network are grayed out.

3. I tried to select 9, but nothing happens.

What am I doing wrong?
