Why do we blame ourselves for problems like this? 

If we as users continue to blame ourselves then the progress of software
will, well stop progressing. It's not your fault. It shouldn't be that
hard. It should be simple and it's not. That's not your fault. 

It's not the "computer's" either. It's the software that is being
deployed to us. We as users must continue to insist on easier to use
systems that "just work."

That's why we have Macs right! :-)
