G3 problem

Hmmm...apologies if this is a duplicate mail... the first one seems
to have bounced for some odd reason.


Hi everyone;

I have a G3 300 / 9.1 that is having a problem.  I installed a fresh 
system on an empty drive and then reset to make it the start up drive.  
On first startup, it unceremoniously hung and stopped at an empty desktop 
with no icons, no clock, no apple menu.... nothing but empty.

Upon forcing shutdown and restarting holding shift key, I get a startup 
without extensions... so I do the same install on the opposite hard drive 
by moving the old system out of the way and reinstalling a fresh one 
there too.

Upon restart, I get the same result.

Any thoughts?
