Be wary of "getting" items from providers. Is it a purchase or a rental?
Recently, my dad got DSL. They wanted to charge him $80-$100 for a wireless
router. Don't remember what brand it was or what specs came with it, but they
can be had for alot less than that, and all he needed was basic stuff. They
also told me (when I called) that their router was the ONLY router that would
work (ha!).
Whichever way you decide to go, Apple, Linksys or whomever else, you should
be fine. I am asuming the G4 Powerbook already has an Extreme card installed,
so any 802.11g wifi router will do, unless the list says otherwise to a
particular line or lines.
Good luck,
