[HM] Disk permissions won't fix the problem

Thom, no Apple Hardware Test in my Utilities folder.   If you mean Disk Utilities,  that si what I ran. Is it under a different name?

The Apple Hardware Test is already on your computer.  Look in Applications/Utilities.
