[MacDV] importing video into imovie

This ones a toughy!  I have a client who gave me mini dv tapes recorded in LP mode.  
I have the camera from which she recorded the tapes (JVC DVL 9000).  The camera is without  a USB or firewire plug, so i don't know how to hook it up to import into my Mac.  
It came with a cable that plugs into the camera "edit" jack and the other side plus into a port on the PC.  I'm really stumped.  thanks for any help you could offer.
