Why not pay a bit more and get a Sony Digital8 camcorder, instead? Most models will: 1) play Hi8 tapes digitizing them for Firewire transmission, 2) pass thru analog Hi8 from your present Hi8 camcorder to Firewire DV, and 3) give you a good DV camcorder (that uses Hi8 casettes). I've never used mine for audio, but it should take analog audio input and produce an audio DV stream output. --Jim Hays At 10:09 -0800 12/17/02, Macintosh Digital Video List wrote: >From: "Randy Scholl" <goscholl at hotmail.com> >Subject: [MacDV] Re: AV/DV Card >Date: Tue, 17 Dec 2002 08:46:24 -0500 >Message-ID: <F99df519Njrh9vTV5u50001444e at hotmail.com> > >Actually, it's not a dv camera it's a Hi8 video camcorder so I assume I'll >need a PCI video capture card. > >I'm looking to buy a card that I can also use to input analoge audio and >record LP records from my stereo to my G3 233 desktop. > >Can anyone suggest a good AV/DV PCI Card for under around $200? -- ********************************************************************** Jim Hays jhays at post.harvard.edu 3381 W.
