Also, along this same line of "alternatives", ran across this in Macintouch today: ******* Jim Vonkas emailed us about a neat trick he discovered with Toast, CD-R and a DVD player: I discovered something amazing in Toast version 5.1! I selected DVD from the 'Other' menu, dragged some jpegs from my digital camera into the Toast window and burned an ordinary CD-RW disk with my ordinary CD-RW burner (Iomega Predator). I put it into my home DVD player (a cheapo chinese Centrex) and it produced a nicely timed slide show! It even had a menu with image titles and there was an indication that it could handle folders as separate slide shows on the one disk. Well, what a nice discovery! Or maybe I just didn't read the manual - silly me. On the Mac the disk showed up with UDF in its Icon. I did try the same thing with a Quicktime movie - but no, that didn't work. But I wonder what other magic is possible with weird combinations of technology ... ******* Just a fluke? Let's see if someone can duplicate this. jb > From: "Randy Wilson" <WilsonR at fonix.com> > Reply-To: "Macintosh Digital Video List"<MacDV at lists.themacintoshguy.com> > Date: Thu, 19 Dec 2002 11:48:13 -0700 > To: "Macintosh Digital Video List" <MacDV at lists.themacintoshguy.com> > Subject: [MacDV] Re: From the DV Expo this week in Los Angeles > > DVD burning
