The Sony DCR-TRV25 works fine with My   iMac G4 and  iMovie.
I am using a borrowed   Sony   DCR-TRV25 Camcorder  and have 
successfully used it to digitalize my old VHS tapes to my computer and 
have also burned 1 DVD with 3 iMovie short clips. I am a novice but so 
far, can vouch for the compatibility.
