Thanks for the info, Eric.

But seeing as I did this yesterday morning, and had no idea what "CESL" was. I set the Pionneer AO5 (now in the upper optical bay) to "master" and transfered the Toshiba combo drove to the lower bay and set it to "slave".

Apple System Profiler sees a Pioneer and a Toshiba, as does Toast.

Successfuly burned to a DVD-RW using iDVD3 soon after.

By the way, anyone else have a problem with the AO5 tray hitting the inside frame just behind the mirrored-door?  I had to re-open the G4 case several times to adjust the optical housing so the tray would eject properly.
