wide-angle lens advice for new Sony mini-dv?

I went to BandH.com and looked through their selection of camcorder 
wide angle lens. I don't recall what I got, but price-wise it was 
midway between the cheapest and the Sony (which was most expensive), 
based on the recommendation of their salesperson.

Before you do the same you need to know the thread size of your 
camcorder lens. Many of the Sony miniDV camcorders have smaller 
threads than the Sony Digital8 I use.
