Newer Macs *do* ship with Classic, which is the ability to run OS 9 applications within OS X. Apple calls this a "compatibility layer" IIRC. The only thing they *can't* do is *boot* into OS 9. This could be a problem with some OS 9 apps, installers/updaters, and older hardware.
