Downloading

Hi,
I'm trying to download various iMovie and FCE updates. The file sizes 
are quite large and take a long time to download, but my service 
provider terminates the internet connection every two hours (no 
broadband where I live unfortunately). This means that there is 
insufficient time to complete the download and I have start it again . 
. . . from the beginning of the download.
Is there a piece of software available that will 'store part 
downloaded' downloads, so that I can download it over the course of a 
few calls?
Any help will be very much appreciated.
