pal or ntsc for dvd

I've noticed in the BH Photo catalog and some Audio-Visual places that it is possible to buy DVD players, VCRs and TVs that are specifically designed to play multi-standards. I suppose that, or playing PAL DVDs on computers, would be the solution for those of us in the United States.

This has been my experience too. Virtually any dvd I've made with NTSC
are playable in the UK. And no one I've found is able to play a PAL
dvd in the States. I make all my dvd's in NTSC for family members in
London, Poland and California. All play without problem. If I make
them in PAL both my Polish son and Californian daughter have trouble.
