PC Formated disks?

I just got my Wiebetech Duo case, and was looking at the instructions, it looks like Mac OS X can mount PC formated hard disks?  I'm thinking this might work good for me for moving some data as it should be faster than 100Mbit ethernet.  How should I format the drive to access it under both WinXP and Mac OS X?
