No list in Batch Monitor

Hi,

I have OSX Panther, Final Cut Pro 4.11 and Compressor 1.1 amongst other
software.

When I submit a job in Compressor, Batch Monitor opens but nothing appears
in it's window - no list of items that are processing.  It is actually
processing them and I get MPEG2 files that work fine, but I have no idea how
long they will take as there is no listing with progress % etc.

Any solutions known?

I have searched Apple's support site with no joy.

Any help appreciated.
