I am usiing the firewire in on the phillips. It works good but... I had 
to set my Sequence preset in FCP to NTSC 640x480
instead of 720. The 720 seemed to scramble it. Now with that setting, my 
FCP won't print to video and  I have to do a play from the timeline. 
That said it does work.
