Danny is dead right. I recently did an edit with 3 chip Beta SP, 3 chip 
DVCAM (PD150), and single chip CCD footage in the mix. The Betacam and 
PD150 match, impossible to tell apart. The single chip was a $1500 Sony 
Mini DV, and it stands out like a sore thumb, even after careful 
multichannel color and density correction. The 1 chip video was not 
able to be matched to the 3 chip stuff... Oh, the capper... all the 
footage was shot at the same time,  same location, same conditions.
