La Cie's 120 Gb external HD

Hi!

I'm looking to buy this La Cie HD to do video editing work, but I have 
two questions which the staff at the Apple Store and La Cie's web site 
are unable to answer:

- can I partition this external HD and install MacOS X so that it's 
bootable?
- will I be able to import DV footage with iMovie straight onto it 
(bypassing my internal HD)?

This appears to be a 7,200 rpm device, but I don't know if it comes with 
an Oxford 911 bridge ...
