Dear MacDV friends, I'm having a terrible time with FCP Express crashing. It is always at start up, just after it loads the viewer. It never gets to the point of loading the canvas. My system is this: iMac G4, 800 mhz, 1 gb ram, 60 gb hd (25 gb free) OSX 10.2.3 After many reinstalls and reboots, I can make the following observations: It started fine the very first time I ran it after the install. It crashed the 2nd time, and everytime after that. It crashed everytime after that, even when I dragged it to the trash and reinstalled. After looking for system files (I am a relatively new Mac user) I found a FCP Exp "user data" file under users/geno/library/preferences. I dragged it to the trash, reinstalled and then it started okay and ran fine. I was able to start it a few time before it crashed again. The big discovery ... Whenever it crashes, I can delete the users/geno/library/preferences file, and that will allow it to start. I do not have to reinstall. What is it in this text file that could be causing my FCP Exp to crash? This is very aggravating. I never had iMovie crashes. Can I be the only one having this trouble? Thanks. Geno Kearney
