There is no legal reason that will prevent you from burning DVD-RWs. Apple policy is not to support DVD-RW but the drives are quite capable of burning them and Apple did not even do a good job of disabling this ability. (Is it possible that Apple thinks they will sell more DVD-R disks if we are not able to make DVD-RW disks for works in progress review and have to use one use DVD-R for this purpose?)
