There is a Media100 list that is very very helpful. It's called the IMUGonline. You should sign up and post the question there before making a purchase decision. I'm sure that if it works with a new computer, those folks would know. Also, you are using Premiere software. It's unclear if Adobe will release a Mac version anymore. Final Cut Pro has really cut into their sales, and the new Final Cut Express is only $299 (though it is DV only).
