Dear Craig, What G3 do you have? Beige, Platinum, B&W or iMac? I had a B&W G3. I spent $255 for a 550 PowerLogix G4 Zif upgrade that runs @ 600 MHz and @300 MHz 1MB L2 cache and $180 for a DVR-105 from OfficeMax that easily goes inside the B&W. That was a total of $435 for the hardware. Add OS X 10.2 Jaguar for about $100 these days and $49 for iLife featuring iDVD 3 for a total of $584. A little more than the $400 for the Formac. But a heck of a lot more processing power and up to date system and semi-professional multimedia production software. However Craig, if you can get the Formac used for less than $400 from Ric, then maybe that's the way to go if the extra money is a problem. I'm worried that you won't be able to use any part of iLife without Jaguar. So you'll be falling farther behind for a few hundred difference. Ric's offer is excellent for iMac owners who don't have the choice of getting a burner inside. k On Monday, January 20, 2003, at 05:24 PM, Craig Busch wrote: >> Hi, >> I see that Formac has a DVD burner and software package for about >> $400 that will work >> with a G3 and OS9.
