You also might think about selling your iMac and buying the next 
refresh (due any month now) with a SuperDrive and 17" screen which may 
sell for less than the current $2K. It is likely that a $1500 17" model 
will also have a SuperDrive in it this next round. You'd have your new 
warranty and move on to more Mac. But you might have to live without a 
Mac for a little while. ; ^ (
