refurbished G4?

Small dog has a number of refurbished dual 1 GHz G4s that they are
loading with memory (2 GB) and an extra 120 GB drive (all
pre-installed). Does anyone see anything wrong with this as a bridge
between my present dual 500 and the next generation machine? (I'm not
going to get the first of the new processors, so I may be waiting for
another year or two otherwise.) I don't think the dual 1.25 is all that
much faster, is it?
