FCP 3 runs in OS9.

It also runs in OSX.

FCP 3.0.2 for OS 9.2.2 (or OS 10.1.5)

FCP 3.0.4 for OS 10.2.3

but, don't upgrade a radically different OS in the middle of a project. An
incredmental upgrade is OK.

And, you can open an OS9 project in OSX and vice versa.
