Hi-8 is not DV. Always use a rewinder to rewind tapes NOT cameras. A DV 
or Hi-8 rewinder only costs $20 and is well worth the investment in 
extending the camera's motor and mechanism's life. Maxell MDV/RW-1 is a 
very good MiniDV rewinder.
