I've been amused a bit by this thread. Image stabilization? Properly set up for handheld, or better, on tripod, dolly, wheelchair, boom, car mount, or Steadicam (TM), you would never use such an option, regardless of stabilization type, even with the consumer cameras noted. I also checked out supervideo.com... if it's a world authority, pray, for which planet? As far as the Sony/Canon debate, there are staunch defenders in each camp, most vociferously regarding the PD150 vs. XL1/2... a fun topic at the LA DV Show and NAB...
