Super-8 is usually shot on 18 fps. although the better cameras can do 24 or even 56 fps, cheap ones run on 18. i brought my stuff to a converter place that converts super8 to dv pretty cheap (2€/min) via an optical converter which is basically a really good flicker free projector which projects on to two mirrors on a screen which is then filmed with a dv-cam. if you convert it digitally (i.e. scan every frame) you have to use a complicated pulldown to get it to 25 or 30fps. if you happen to be from germany the conversion place is www.kahl-film.de, a great source for super-8 and 16mil by the way, if anyone cares ...
