Would you believe Microsoft used to engage in this behavior? One of my friends was in a commercial for Word 5. She was in several issues of MacWorld and MacUser. It was shot in LA on the Court House steps. Microsoft bought a bunch of clothes and shoes for the models to wear in the shoot and then tried to get them to buy them. They used them in the shoot and then took them back. Stores were on to this, however. They would no longer "sell" to Microsoft.
