You might try DivX Doctor.  Might be easier than ffmpeg.  Not having 
any Wintel bigot friends, and no real desire to play .avi, .wma or 
whatever else is the lingua franca of the M$ universe, I haven't needed 
to try this yet :-)  (My one M$/Intel friend has had enough trouble 
with his various machines that he knows that Macs are better - but has 
never been able to justify the expense of making the switch...)
