I know that I can't import DV from my ZR 40 to a FireWire disk without problems. I have to import to my internal hard disk. There is something weird about the way at least some Canon camcorders do FireWire that interferes with FireWire hard disks. This is with OS X, BTW, but I assume the problem also applies to OS 9. My problems would happen during the DV capture process. Yours are happening during editing. But maybe the DV file is corrupt in some way. Try re-capturing the video, but to your internal hard disk.
