I have the original 5gb ipod and I've used it several times to do demos 
of FCP. It worked quite well although after one particularily long 
session it got incredibly hot. I never tried to capture direct to it - I 
copied the files I used. While the iPod worked, it didn't feel to me 
like it would be a good idea to use it in everyday use.
