I just wrote them a long letter saying exactly that. Why not reward people who actually buy stuff, register it and stick with it? My point was, I bought FCP3 last year when I was taking a directing course. A bunch of us were talking about going in together (5 of us in fact) to buy it for $399. Dupe the disks... or just install it on our laptops ($3000 Macs by the way) and hope that we did'nt have to reinstall... I decided to take the high road and buy my own copy. This is the thanks I get? I know it's a great piece of software and 4 has tons of stuff that makes it well worth the money... but really, if you are not making money off the software it seems strange to gouge a not-yet-making-a-profit market.
