Why won't my DV camera record directly on a DVD - its all just digital data: another conspiracy to sell tapes. How about that whole so-called distinction between a CD and DVD - they're both just metal coated plastic disks. Anyone can see that they are the same thing - they just want to be able to sell us the same thing for more money, so they start calling them "DVD". Three letters, more money. How about those cordless mice that cost *more* money - they save the cost of the cord, and charge us more for them. What a conspiratorial rip-off!
