David- What you are recieving is the result of a virus on someone's Windows machine that has the list serve address on it. Once the machine is infected, the virus searches the machine for email addresses and then sends out emails to those addresses with the virus attached to the message. The .exe files that are attached contain the virus. I don't imagine "a real moron" is involved as the machine and not the individual sends out these emails, usually without the knowledge of the individual. The only moronic thing these folks have done is to first buy a Windows machine, second not keep their anti-virus software updated and third use Microsoft Outlook, the most security hole-filled email client on the planet. Luckily, as Mac users we can just laugh maniacally as we send these virus-laden emails to the trash because they don't affect us (and, with any luck, they never will). It's always had the same name (can't recall it right now) and has ended in either ".exe" or ".scr". Whoever is doing it is trying to send a virus but apparently is also a real moron since Windows executables and screensavers won't even operate on a Mac. All I can do is just laugh at them.
