Video in iChat

I'm posting this here since it does relate to DV cameras. :-)

I attempted to hook my GL2 DV camera into iChat AV and do a test video chat
with my family (in the adjoining room!).  We could not get the video part to
work unless BOTH parties had a DV camera connected.  This was disappointing
as I really didn't want to go out and buy another camera just to enable a
video hookup.  Other video conferencing programs do not require both parties
to have a DV hookup.  Ex.: An audio-only person could see and speak with
someone who had audio and video hookup.

Is there a way to enable this in the new iChat where we can chat between an
audio-only enabled party and an audio-video enabled party?

One way I plan to use it is when I want to do a live video report around the
world to a large group of people where they can see us but there's no need
for me to "see" 1,000 people sitting in a church auditorium or class room!
I would just need to "hear" the questions and comments.

Oh the joys of technology.  With our family going to different corners of
the globe we can still be in touch by audio & video. :-)

Now if I could only communicate with the 99% of my family, friends, and
colleagues who have MS NetMeetings on their machines!
