I just spent the past day over at the Mac Audio Workstation list on
this topic. I am not going to write a long post on this subject. Bottom
line. Canopus is the best analog to DV and vice versa box on the
market. Forget the 50. You want the 100 for $269 at ecost and harmony.
They have a toll free number to answer all your questions directly.

<http://www.canopus.com/US/products/advc-100/pm_advc-100.asp> press the
all specifications button.

Why?
1. Locked Audio
2. Superior Codec
3. complete analog to DV and DV to analog solution.

I own a Sony and I am buying a Canopus because my Sony is just not good
enough and I have to have the best. This is my only post on the subject
because I have already written 20 on the subject today and last night.

Forget the 50. You want the 100.

Forgetaboutit.

Duh! It is brain dead

Yes

Yes

Hardware. No moving parts. OS X sees it just like any camera with a
superior codec.

Yes.

What you feed it it will spit out.

I am sick of the subject. Canopus is the only transcoder to buy today.
Anyone else thinks otherwise doesn't understand the Canopus. Call the
toll free number Monday.
