It is very clear from the manuals etc that DVD-R recorders will not record DVD+R media and vice versa, so the big issues concern playback. This seems certainly to be the case. Perhaps dual format drives will become universal like dual standard PAL/SECAM TV sets in Europe or dual PAL/NTSC standards in VCR playback so the problem will be solved in firmware and not worry the consumer. Either that or one format will disappear through atttrition. Alan
