I teach TV in a high school and after the kids destroyed 3 dazzles, I figured out that I could use the cable that came with my cameras (3 rca's to mini) to record from an svhs tape onto the mini dv in my camera, then capture in the computer via firewire. It's a little more trouble but saves $300. JCR
