Burn your downloaded tunes to a CD (making a normal audio CD). Then
import that into iMovie or convert it to whatever formats you want.
iMovie will do a lot better if you give it an audio CD. Some mp3 songs
aren't recognized or give people problems later (as reported on this
list in the past).
The first thing I do after downloading a CD's worth of music is back it
up on a CD just for safety anyway. Tonight I got frustrated waiting for
an album that's been listed since day 1 with zero songs available. It's
sitting out there on Amazon, so I went and listened to 5 of their
minutes at 16 kbps in RealOne Player. This must be what some of the
first recordings ever made sounded like :-).
