After closing iMovie, you can copy the clip files from one project 
media folder to the other. When you open the destination project in 
iMovie, it will tell you that it has discovered new clips, and ask 
what you want to do with them -- IIRC, the choices are to trash them 
or place them on the Shelf. Tell it to place them on the Shelf. The 
copied clips should then appear.
